description:
Bulgarian icons are typical
representative of the traditional Eeastern Orthodox religious art
which boast of thousand-years history. Bulgaria was the first of the
Slav states to adopt Christianity as its official religion in 865 in
the reign of Tsar Boris I. Since then the Bulgarian icon, a symbol

9th century through the present day.
With this tour you will visit some of
the places where Bulgarian iconography is best represented - Eastern
Orthodox monasteries and churches. The essential part of this
tour will be a course of lectures in Bulgarian Orthodox Iconography
